What's new in HDL Companion 2.2
HDL Companion 2.2 includes several new features and improvements compared to version 2.1.
The most important changes are:
HTML Documentation
The HTML documentation of VHDL and Verilog files has been extended with links from used
objects to their definition.
Here is a VHDL to HTML example for the I2C project (in a new window).

Comment extraction
Comment can be extracted from the HDL files and displayed in the detailed view.
A comment icon is added to the object symbol to show comment has been found.
When you move the mouse pointer over the comment icon the comment is shown in a tooltip.
HDL Linting
The linter has been improved for both VHDL and Verilog.
Performance of the linter has improved.
ToolFlow
Buttons have been added to the main- and global view button bars.
The toplevel units (entity, module, architecture and configuration), can be selected for simulation.
Miscellaneous
- Unicode support in the Scriptum editor.
- Menu structure has been improved
- Definitions of Verilog macros to control compilation of the Verilog files.
- IP configuration is now done in a separate dialog.
- License wizard now uses the HDLWorks website to complete a license request.
