What's new in HDL Companion 2.2

HDL Companion 2.2 includes several new features and improvements compared to version 2.1.
The most important changes are:

HTML Documentation

The HTML documentation of VHDL and Verilog files has been extended with links from used objects to their definition.

Here is a VHDL to HTML example for the I2C project (in a new window).

A Verilog to HTML example can be found here (also in a new window).

Comment extraction

Comment can be extracted from the HDL files and displayed in the detailed view. A comment icon is added to the object symbol to show comment has been found. When you move the mouse pointer over the comment icon the comment is shown in a tooltip.

HDL Linting

The linter has been improved for both VHDL and Verilog.
Performance of the linter has improved.

ToolFlow

Buttons have been added to the main- and global view button bars. The toplevel units (entity, module, architecture and configuration), can be selected for simulation.
